On Thanksgiving Day 1944 the 304th Infantry Regiment boarded the U S Troopship Brazil in Boston Harbor for their trip across the Atlantic. They would dock in Southampton, England on 4 December 1944.
The following pictures of the U S Troopship Brazil were provided to me by Martin Lagin who served with the 304th Infantry Regiment in L Company. He was supplied the pictures in 1946 by the Moore McCormick Cruise Line, the owners of the Brazil at the time. Mr. Lagin was wounded serioulsy by mortar fire near Alsdorf, Germany after crossing the Nims River on 27 February 1945.
Thank you Mr. Lagin, for the pictures and for your sacrifices for our freedom.
